Oh what to blog...

I keep battling with this struggle of wanting to blog, but not having anything to blog about. In an attempt to get back into it...here is an update on what is going on with me and the lil monster.

Things I like right now...

- Starbuck's Evolution Juice...sweet greens with lemon is my favorite and I try to have it every week day morning. I also have essential vegetables in the afternoon. Best place (cheapest) is Safeway.
- Living in Downtown Seattle. I have been living here since September and am in Heaven. I love all of the activity and being able to walk to everything. The only thing I am missing is a good grocery store that I can walk to. Although our place is amazing with a great deck with a fabulous view of the water and the stadiums.
- Hot yoga...I try to do it at least four times a week, although I have fallen off track a bit given all my traveling for work.  I love the relaxation and how I feel afterwards, also the flexibility and core work is amazing.
- Blue Print Cleanse (over priced...but just feels so good)
- Indoor Soccer...I currently play for a team in Arlington, but think I need to find a new one closer...although will probably stay in Arlington because I like all of the people so much and the quality time with Sanna
- Imagery Winery - The only winery that I am a member of. We went down there over the spring to see them again and I was planning to cancel my membership, but ended up buying almost two cases and deciding that it is a guilty pleasure that I will just continue to enjoy. I love every wine I have there and I love the art work (Gabby loved it too!) Imagery's Website

Things we did this weekend...
- Cleaned house...let's just say that saying our place needed to be vacuumed would be an understatement. Gabby and I spent all day Sunday cleaning/vacuuming.
- Made Chili - found  a fun turkey chili recipe online and made it for the week. Did a little tweaking because  I wanted to use my spices...it came out okay.
- Made Curried Lentils - using the recipe from our cooking class at Pan Africa in Pike Place, I made curried lentils...a lil too spicy because I used hot curry, but pretty good.
- Saturday night we went out and checked out Melarouge. A co-worker of mine is in the group and I had been wanting to check them out for a bit. It was a great show and I can't wait to see them again.  Melarouge on Facebook.

Hope to be better about this. I will post later about some of the other stuff we have been doing this year.

a little too long between posts...

I was reading my last post and I can't believe how long it has been since I wrote in this thing...I guess that is further sign that I have been working too much and living life when I can.

I survived yet another busy season and it was a difficult one, between the economy and the limited staff it was pretty intense and we had a lot going on.

Well, a few weeks ago I made a leap into a new life and out of a plane for that matter. After careful consideration, I have decided to leave the fabulous life of public accounting to the private side. What does this mean? Lots of things and in all honesty, I have serious mixed feelings about it and am scared shitless. I think it is the best for me and something that I need to do, but it is scary to be leaving everything that I have built at Moss.

I am going to miss everyone here so much, but sometimes you have to realize when you need to move on and find something that you love in life outside of work. I am excited about perhaps having better work-life balance. There are quite a few things that I have missed while in public accounting and I am hoping that spreading out my work load through the year will result in better balance (the extra money won't hurt either).

I will be working in downtown Seattle and for anyone that knows me, they will know that I have been wanting to do this for a LONG time. Hoping to find a way to move down there in the fall and rent my place out. Luckily the bus route is convinent and it will give me some time to blog, read my kindle and all of the books that I have purchased on that thing.

The thing I think I am going to love most is getting into a routine with work, life, schedule, gabby, excercise, it is going to be nice to be predictable for a change. To be able to go to the gym in the morning before work and know that I take the same bus to work and can leave at the same time each day.

Here is to the next chapter in my life...I am excited to see what it holds for me. :)

Again...?

And so it seems that another busy season is approaching. Didn't I just wrap up the last one? Or did it ever really end? I look at the hours I have worked and can find the 40 hour weeks to be few and far between.

Gabbana...who surprisingly still loves me and remembers me after this summer of traveling for work and play... is not so excited for the busy season to be approaching. In the past few weeks we have built up the routine of running in the morning and we both fear what busy season is going to do for that. Hopefully we can keep it going so she and I will stay in shape. I will say she is quite the motivator. At 5 AM those puppy eyes are looking at me saying "you better take me for a run because I am going to be stuck in here all day and who knows how late." Although we have gotten better about having our fabulous dog walkers to come walk her and check on her when the days are a little too long. It is nice to not feel so guilty when I am gone or when I come home and just want to crawl into bed.

I can honestly say that I am the happiest I have been in a while. It is great to just be content with life and enjoying it for what it is worth.
